Welcome to HouseHonest ("HouseHonest", "we", "us"). By creating an account or posting on HouseHonest, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1. What HouseHonest Is (and Isn't)
HouseHonest is a community forum and review platform for user-submitted information about homes, neighborhoods, and real estate professionals. HouseHonest is not a licensed real estate brokerage, appraiser, attorney, inspector, or financial advisor. Nothing on HouseHonest constitutes professional, legal, financial, or real estate advice. Always consult licensed professionals before any transaction.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure.
- One person, one account. No bots, scraping, or automated posting.
3. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you post but grant HouseHonest a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it on the platform. You represent that:
- The content is yours or you have permission to post it.
- Your statements of fact are true to the best of your knowledge; opinions are clearly opinions.
- You will follow our Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms.
4. Prohibited Conduct
- Defamation, harassment, threats, hate speech, or doxxing.
- Posting photos that show identifiable people, family items, children, or interiors that reveal occupants' private lives.
- Sharing private contact info of occupants, neighbors, or realtors beyond publicly listed business info.
- Impersonating any person, realtor, brokerage, or HouseHonest staff.
- Posting content for commercial promotion, spam, or pay-for-review schemes.
- Violating intellectual property, MLS terms, or applicable law.
5. Moderation, Removal & Right of Reply
HouseHonest may remove, edit, or restrict any content at our discretion. Subjects of reviews (including realtors) may submit a verified response or request removal of factually inaccurate content via our Takedown process.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
HouseHonest is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not verify user content. Reliance on any information posted is at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HouseHonest and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the platform or reliance on user content. Total liability is capped at USD $100.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold HouseHonest harmless from claims arising out of content you post or your violation of these Terms.
9. Dispute Resolution
Disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration in the United States. You waive class-action rights. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for IP issues.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
